God has promised us that if we come to Him with a faith that works through love, and repent of all sin, He will be faithful to take out our heart of stone and replace it with a heart of flesh.  He will write His laws upon our minds and hearts.  He will make us a new creation.  That all starts with the preparation of our hearts to be completely submitted to God through repentance.  The Holy Spirit will not indwell a defiled heart.
