Top 5 Deceptions in “Churchianity”

Ezekiel 33:4

“Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword comes, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.”

Many doctrines are being taught today from those that say they are called.  There are as well many doctrines that are being taught today from those that are not called.  Today we will address not just a doctrine spoken by the unlearned and ignorant.

Today we will address out and out lies from the deceivers among us.

  1. God loves everyone.
  2. A sealed saint cannot walk away from God’s goodness.
  3. We cannot help but to offend God for we cannot help but to sin.
  4. The Lord Christ is the friend of sinners.
  5. God accepts you just as you are.

Brothers and sisters, there are many more but today we address just these five. We address these five for they are lies and deceptions that are salvation issues.

God Loves Those Who Seek Him

Proverbs 8:17

“I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.”

John 14:21-24
“He that hath My commandments, and keepeth them,
he it is that loveth me:
and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father,
and I will love him,
and will manifest myself to him.
Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
Jesus answered and said unto him,
If a man love me,
he will keep my words:
and my Father will love him,
and we will come unto him,
and make our abode with him.
He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings:
and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.”

It can be no more clear than this:

God said He will and He shall love those who seek Him. God and the Lord said He will and He shall love those that love the Lord Christ.

How is our love for the Lord Christ manifested; by receiving and keeping His word.

Now receiving and keeping is but the start for we as well are told to understand the word.

Matthew 13:18-23
“Hear ye, therefore, the parable of the sower.
When anyone heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the wayside.
But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”

Luke 8:11-15
“Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
Those by the wayside are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.”

Mark 4:13-20
“And He said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?
The sower soweth the word.
And these are they by the wayside, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;
And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.
And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”

Discipleship Proves this Love

The Lord spoke clearly unto His disciples that if one does not understand these words then they will not understand anything else.

  • All four received the word into their heart.
  • Many received the word into their heart with joy.
  • The word of God took root in many of the hearts in which received it.
  • However, there was but one that produced fruit from the word of God.

It was the one that understood the word of God and here is the understanding; within the word of God there is a spiritual understanding that only those few find.

1 Corinthians 3:1

“And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.”

Hebrews 5:13

“For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.”

Are these ones that cannot understand not one of us; that answer is a yes and no answer. Yes, there are those among us that are as yet babes in Christ. No there are those among us that are the ministers of Satan.

2 Corinthians 11:14

“And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”

So how do we discern from among the two? Only through the Spirit of God and the gift of discernment can this be accomplished.

1 Corinthians 12:4-11

“Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He will.”

Are all given the gift of discerning of spirits; the answer is no. Many will never be given this precious gift for they desire it not. They are content to walk the walk and remain ignorant.

1 Corinthians 14:38

“But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.”

Why would one desire to remain ignorant; it is simply because they are lazy and slothful. They have not been diligent and exercised any virtue with what they have been given and thus they are not given more.

Hebrews 5:14

“But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”

This has set up the “why” for so many remaining ignorant of spiritual understanding.

A sealed saint cannot walk away from God’s goodness

So we now will continue to address the other lies and deceptions being taught.

Romans 11:13-22
For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.
For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.
Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

Hebrews 3:12

“Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.”

Yes as unbelievable as it may seem; one can choose to walk away from God’s goodness. This is when one returns into unbelief.

1 John 5:16

“If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.”

We Offend God…We Cannot Help but to Sin.

Romans 6:15

“What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.”

We are told clearly that we are to overcome the temptation as so not to sin.

James 1:15

“Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.”

Galatians 5:16

“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”

1 John 2:15-17

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”

Revelation 2:4-5

“Nevertheless, I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of His place, except thou repent.”

Revelation 12:11

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

Revelation 21:7

“He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.”

We are told in the word of God with simplicity and clarity; those that overcome and only those that overcome the lustful temptations of the world will inherit all things as the son of God.

Christ is the Friend of Sinners

Nowhere within the word of God does it say that Jesus is the friend of sinners. These words sprouted from the lips of the Pharisees.

Matthew 11:19

“The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.”

If we believe these words then we must believe the rest of these words, that Christ was gluttonous and a winebibber, yet many live in a selective scriptural life.

God Accepts You Just as You Are

God does not accept anyone just as they are!

2 Corinthians 7:10-11
“For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.”

Psalms 51:17

“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.”

When we are accepted by God and we become sealed then we still are not to remain the same. We are to grow up and mature and become as a fruitful branch once we become grafted unto the vine which is the Lord Christ.

Ephesians 4:14-25
“That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind.

Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
But ye have not so learned Christ;
If so be that ye have heard Him, and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus:
That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”

John 15:1-14
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit He taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing.
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.
These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.”

The word of God is clear and leaves no room for confusion in this vital topic of salvation.
“Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away”

2 Peter 1:1-11
“Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”

The branches which are the sealed saints that are attached to the true vine which is the Lord Christ are to become fruitful.

The branches found barren are broken off and cast into the fire and are not granted entrance into the everlasting kingdom.

I will end this with a cry of the watchman!

Ezekiel 18:23

“Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?”

James 1:14-15

“But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.”

Revelation 2:3

“Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
And he that overcometh, and keepeth My works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of My Father.

And I will give him the morning star.
Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before My Father, and before His angels.
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from My God: and I will write upon him My new name.

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of My mouth.
Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.
To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with Me in My throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with My Father in His throne.
Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.”
