“I Am What I Think”

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you” (‭‭Philippians ‭4:8-9‬).

 
R. Kent Hughes in his marvelous work “Disciplines of a Godly Man” expounds on this passage from Paul writing,

“Each of Paul’s ingredients is explicitly positive. The true, the noble, the right, the pure, the lovely, the amirable all defy negative exposition. Each ingredient was, and is, a matter of personal choice — and our choices make all the difference in the world. We can all choose a thought program which will produce a Christian mind” (Hughes, Pg. 72).

What Is the program I am choosing to set my mind to these days? Is it being set by the pattern and ways of the world, or of the Kingdom of God? The choice is ours today. Choose wisely, friends!!

“Solis in the Storm”

“If you feel helpless you have just become eligible for the assistance of God! You need only cry out for His salvation and He will do the rest and He will do it well! And when the storm is over, you will be a new person: wiser, stronger, ready to serve Him. The sea will be calm, the breeze will be soft and the silence will present itself as a sanctuary for you to exalt His name and sing His glorious praises.”

The quote above from Dr. Jeremiah and the ones from the last week came form a message he shared from Psalm 107. I want to encourage you to read this powerful Psalm today. Holy Spirit strengthen us as Your people to shine in the storms of life and not just survive! 💡✨💫

You can never have a Christian mind without reading the Scriptures regularly because you cannot be profoundly influenced by that which you do not know. If you are filled with God‘s word, your life can then be informed and directed by God”

What are you intentionally and/ or passively feeding and programming your mind with friend? Input ALWAYS leads to output. What is flowing from your life in word and action? I must change the root to change the fruit.
